Drinking Cozy
Beverages to Warm Up Them Bones
By Susan Derby
Intro | Chai | Chocolate | Mull It Over

The rain drips outside and you’re a snug bug curled up under your comforter with a fat book. The window is frosty, the streets are quiet, and that heater is on high in the confines of your oasis of homebodiness.

Unless you’re in the tropics, chances are that you can relate to that feeling of wanting to stay close to home, or within it, during those brrrr winter evenings when the sun leaves the scene early.

Down time is good. ’Tis the season, after all, to honor that cold-blooded hermit in you, and, with the help of some top toasty beverages, make a toast to that happy recluse. Nothing warms the spirits like a hot cuppa, say, chai, hot chocolate, or mulled wine.

In fact, if you stir up a big enough bucket of beverage, you could even host a little get-together, if the mood happens to strike. Get your best mates over to tell stories, rent movies, or play a board game, all the while warming up with whatever is swirling in those mugs of yours.
