Los Angeles based artist and designer Scott Acord joined forces with Tana and Tana's Habitat in the summer of 2002.
Looking for a creative challenge in a galaxy far, far away from the corporate world of television publicity and marketing, Scott left a successful career after having worked at such innovative companies as MTV Networks and DreamWorks. Ready to pursue the design career he'd always dreamed of but never thought possible, Scott enrolled at the world renowned Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA and put his "I can do that" attitude where his mouth is.
"To me success is doing what you love and once I began to pursue my passion I knew I was already successful."
While honing his penchant for personalizing and customizing beautiful designs to fit his own tastes, Scott met Tana through a mutual friend. Immediately recognizing their similar design philosophies, Scott and Tana began meeting regularly for "arts & crafts days" to experiment with a variety of materials and projects from designing lighting with found objects to Polaroid transfers to designing and making their own rugs amongst a myriad of others. It wasn't long until they decided to team up and Scott became a partner in Tana's Habitat.
When Scott isn't playing in his art studio, he spends too much time watching sports, hiking, snowboarding, playing golf or reading.
